Back to the Bible daily by disciple John
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
When I was a young Christian it was quite normal for members of the Church to excitedly share scriptures they had read during their "Quiet time." It was a time when practically everyone had a Bible and they made time each day to study the scripture and apply the lessons learned in their lives. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths
This scripture from Proverbs 3:5-6 has spoken to me many times as a young Christian I realised that in every part of my life, my home, my family and my employment, I had to acknowledge Lord Jesus, and it would mean I could not be a secret Christian, and my response was to put a Bible text stickers on my company car that said that Jesus was Lord. I was a salesman and carried a briefcase in which I placed Bible text stickers, so that whenever I was with customers, they would also know I was a Christian, and my neighbours, friends and employers knew I was a Christian. Once I became a bold Christian I knew I had to live up to God's standard because I would be watched by unbelievers.
Lean not on our own understanding. How we would avoid a lot of problems, if only we would seek our God in prayer before making decisions. There is nothing more wonderful as a Christian, than knowing that we are in the will of God, who is guiding us every step of the way and telling us which way to turn.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we acknowledge you word to us that we are to follow your teaching in all of our life and to put our trust in you, so that your will be done and your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
